Very clean. Hot food slightly better than average NOT GREAT LIKE BUCCEE. Plenty of pumps for cars and trucks. Loads of sugar soft drinks and energy drinks. Gas price actually low for this are of chicago. Very safe near I-55 RAMP. only half Ile from cook county criminal courts.

A year ago when we started coming here it was great and little by little it’s all gone to shit. They clearly stopped bothering even refilling or fixing the cappuccino machines, ever since they came out with the full size pizza the quality and recipe changed, and they don’t stay on top of the half and half dispenser or coffee. There’s no reason to go out of the way to come here anymore. I also dumped my coffee and walked out when I noticed it tasted like swill.

If i could give it no star's I would. It was about 5:45-6:00 pm. I came in after walking my dog. To get a cup of ice for hre water. I was welcome with one employee. The other was so upset when she seen my dog smell some beef turkey bags down low. Then she made customers wait. And told me to come up quietly. To get me and my dog out. Saying in front of everyone my dog was dirty. That is a reflection on me as well. But it is the way she looked at my dog and I. She was kicking us out. So my rights at this place was validated. There are no signs up no dog's dut this is a truck stop. And the embarrassed I was with my dog. Leaving. The people in line was happy she was there. They talked to me about her.

The staff is friendly & helpful most of the time the food is pretty fresh. Plenty to choose from drinks, food & snacks. Bathrooms are kept up with. The bad is never anything to clean your windows with no paper, no squeegee the air hoses to put air in your tires are all broken or missing. The water pumps don't work these are necessities truckers need.

I love this Thornton's location! The employees and cashiers are always friendly (to me that is; I cannot speak for anyone else, only myself). The restroom is clean and well-maintained. 80s music is often heard at the pumps. Immediately to the west is the truck stop. It is always nice to see the wide array of semi trucks that sit in this area. And now, the snacks. Ohhhh yes, the snacks! The wide selection of ready-to-eat foods and treats puts 7-Eleven to shame! For example, I prefer the look-alike Tornados over 7-Eleven's Taquitos. There's also a soft serve ice cream station containing cones, cups, spoons, and syrups for your ice cream! If I lived near this Thornton's location, I would visit at least twice a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
