I recently visited the Sunoco located at 801 S Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19147, and I was extremely disappointed with my experience. I pumped $20 worth of gas, but to my surprise, an additional $55 hold was placed on my account. Upon reviewing the store, I noticed a sign inside that states, “Certain major card issuers and banks have limits on fuel transactions that may affect your pay-at-the-pump. Banks may place a hold on customers’ accounts, typically $75–$100, and it’s usually released once the transaction is processed, though it may take anywhere from several hours to several days.” The problem is, this sign is only visible inside the store, meaning customers are unaware of this potential hold until they check their bank accounts. This is not only inconvenient but also unfair to those who may not have the extra funds to spare, especially when they don’t know when the hold will be released. It’s misleading, and I believe this information should be displayed more clearly and prominently before customers make a purchase. I hope the management takes this into consideration and makes the necessary changes to better inform customers about these potential holds.

It was closed when I came, despite nothing stating they would be aside from a misspelled paper sign on the doors, none of the pumps were in service, and the way the employees inside dismissed me was nothing short of disrespectful. This has been a very poor gas station, since about 2009; it's quite telling that, in 15 years, this business has made no effort to improve on its customer service or even its literal use case in society as a gas station! I'd rate zero stars if I could, and I'd have rated this "gas station" this poorly for nearly two decades.

My wife was charged $175 on her debit card despite filling 2 gallons of gas in her Impreza. Tried resolving the matter with the owner who flatly refused to take any responsibility. Had to take the matter up to the bank. Will just get gas from the Exxon station on Broad and Bainbridge.

I went to this gas station and paid for regular gas and for some reason I got charged a lot more like I have received premium gas or my debit card. Be careful everybody. Store needs to clean up their act. It's about time people start caring about their businesses and their communities.

No attendant in the middle of the day. Tried 2 pumps one didn’t read any cards and the other pumps buttons were broken. Place is falling apart. Everyone stop going so we can put this place out of business so a good gas station owner can take over.
